BreyerFest is Breyer's annual collector festival, and the 2026 theme was Midsummer Fair.

BreyerFest 2026 Variation Guide

What a weekend! BreyerFest 2026: Midsummer Fair has officially come to a close, and the Kentucky Horse Park (along with our computer screens) was filled with the magic of Scandinavian tradition. From the stunning flower crowns to the incredible guest horses, it was a celebration to remember.

But for collectors, the real excitement was in the reveals. Now that the dust has settled and the "Scandi Surprises" have been unwrapped, let's dive into the full breakdown of this year's Special Runs and their elusive variations.

The Scandi Surprise: Vermeer Takes the Stage

This year's Surprise Special Run (Mold #806, the Friesian Sporthorse sculpted by Lynn Fraley, also known as Vermeer) was a masterpiece of variety. With 11 different variations in total, the hunt was on!

Matte Finish Lineup:

  • Matte Bay Roan: 1,150 pieces
  • Matte Champagne: 1,150 pieces
  • Matte Dark Dappled Bay: 1,060 pieces
  • Matte Chestnut Tobiano Pinto: 1,015 pieces
  • Matte Black Leopard Appaloosa: 870 pieces

Glossy Finish Lineup:

  • Glossy Gold Sabino (Gullfaxi): 630 pieces (The gorgeous decorator for 2026!)
  • Glossy Bay Roan: 385 pieces
  • Glossy Champagne: 385 pieces
  • Glossy Dark Dappled Bay: 385 pieces
  • Glossy Chestnut Tobiano Pinto: 385 pieces
  • Glossy Black Leopard Appaloosa: 385 pieces

Special Run Splits & Variations

It wasn't just the surprise model that had us double-checking our boxes. Several other Special Runs featured the highly anticipated matte/glossy splits:

  • Oseberg (Dark Seal Bay): A perfect 50/50 split between matte and glossy finishes.
  • Litha (Red Bay Tobiano Pinto): Featured a 75% matte (2,250 pcs) / 25% glossy (750 pcs) split.
  • Midnattssol (Dark Bay Sabino): Another stunning addition with potential glossy surprises hidden in the run.

Looking Ahead: BreyerFest 2027 – Italia!

Just as we were packing up our Midsummer flower crowns, Breyer dropped the big news for next year. Get ready to trade your Swedish meatballs for gelato, because we are heading to the land of la dolce vita!

Save the Date:

  • Theme: Italia!
  • Dates: July 16–18, 2027
  • Location: Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, KY & Online at BreyerHorses.com

Theme Guesses: What Models Might We See?

The Italian theme opens up a world of beautiful breeds and rich history. Here are our early guesses for the Italia! lineup:

  1. The Murgese Stallion: Given the recent popularity of the Murgese mold (like Midnattssol), a portrait model of a famous Italian dressage Murgese like Carletto seems like a strong contender.
  2. The Maremmano: Italy's traditional working horse. We'd love to see a rugged, athletic Maremmano on a dynamic mold.
  3. Rare Breeds: Breyer has already teased mentions of the San Fratello, Catria, Bardigiano, and the Italian TPR Agricultural Horse. Expect at least one of these rare gems to make an appearance as a Special Run.
  4. Venetian Decorator: Imagine a model inspired by the intricate masks and gold-leaf of the Venice Carnival!
